About Maia
The Young Artist
-
-
Ever since Maia was two years old, she has expressed a passion for art. What began as recreational finger painting has since transpired into one masterpiece flaunting another proudly displayed in her home. She spends hours diligently addressing each detail and doing her best to put onto paper what she has envisioned in her mind. A very thoughtful, empathetic young girl, Maia always considers the feelings of others, be it human, animal or insect. She tries to understand what someone is feeling and becomes genuinely upset when she hears that not everyone is as fortunate or healthy as she is.
To that end, Maia was concerned when she heard stories about others in need and she began to think about what she could do on her own to help out. As a seven year old, finding a way to make a difference in the community is not always easy.
With some careful consideration, Maia’s ambition to help others became a reality by channeling her artwork to raise funds that would go directly to helping others in need.
She has already raised approximately $30,000 for two local organizations, Daystar and EquiCenter, with 100% of the profits going directly to the organizations.
Now nine years old, Maia has just completed her third set of notecards to benefit Golisano Children’s Hospital and hopes to raise money and awareness to support their mission.
Maia is fulfilling her dream to make a difference. Her notecards are available to purchase and 100% of the proceeds always go directly to the organization.

Golisano Children's Hospital
-
When children are seriously ill or injured, the last thing their parents want to do is leave their support systems behind and travel hours away for expert care. Thankfully, families in the 17-county Finger Lakes region and beyond have access to the best medical care right here in their own backyard thanks to Golisano Children’s Hospital, our region’s only children’s hospital. Golisano Children’s Hospital has become an incredible place of healing and is a beacon of hope for families of premature babies, children with heart defects, adolescents with eating disorders, kids on the autism spectrum, children who have been diagnosed with cancer, those needing life-saving surgery, and families struggling with chronic childhood illnesses.
More than 200 pediatric specialists provide a spectrum of care that spans more than 40 specialty areas — including everything from allergy services to neurosurgery and critical care – treating 85,000 children and their families each year. More than 20,000 pediatric surgical procedures are performed at the hospital every year, and the facility is the only WNY center offering pediatric cardiac surgery.
Mission
To provide the best possible healthcare to the children in our region.
